Rice Krispie Marshmallow Squares
These marshmallow squares are a classic no-bake activity for kids. Perfect to serve at parties or the occasional snack, these are a great introduction to baking for older kids who will no doubt love getting into a sticky mess when making them!
Makes: ~16 Squares
Prep: 5 Mins
Cooking Time: 15 Mins
Ready In: 20 Mins + Cooling Time
- 30g Unsalted Butter + Extra for greasing
- 200g Mini White Marshmallows
- 125g Rice Krispies
- Grease a 20cm x 20cm tin.
- In a large saucepan melt the butter. Add in the marshmallows are stir continuously until the mixture is completely melted- this is incredibly satisfying to watch!
- Take the pan off the heat and quickly add in the rice krispies. Stir the mixture until completely combined- this will be very sticky and gets harder to do as the mixture quickly cools so try and work quickly (but safely).
- Tip the mix into the tin and flatten down. I personally find this easiest to do by hand, but make sure the mixture is cool enough to handle, otherwise use the back of a spoon or spatula.
- Allow to cool completely then cut into squares and serve.
