Kofta
These koftas are great for a sociable meal where everything can be put in the middle of the table for everyone to dig in. You can play around with which meats you prefer to use here, as well as what you serve it with, meaning it can be great for keeping a lot of variety in your diet just with one simple dish as a starting point. If you wanted to save time, you could make these in advance and freeze prior to cooking- just ensure to defrost thoroughly prior to cooking.

- 500g Lamb/Turkey/Chicken Mince
- Thumb Size Fresh Ginger
- 1 Clove Garlic
- 1tsp Ground Cumin
- Put the mince in a large bowl. Peel the ginger and grate, and add it in to the bowl along with the crushed ginger and cumin. Use your hands to mix all the spices in to the meat.
- Divide the mix into small balls, approximately the size of a golf ball, then slightly flatten them. Or, you could roll them up into more of a sausage shape. You should get about 10 koftas.
- In a griddle pan or frying pan, add the koftas and a small amount of olive oil and cook for about 8-10minutes on each side on a medium heat. Alternatively you could bake these at 200C/180C Fan for about 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- Serve with some flatbreads, some tzatziki or hummus and either salad or roasted veg.

Additional Information
For weaning infants, you may want to cut the koftas into them into a less round shape to help avoid a choking hazard.
